Occupational Therapist

Qualifications:

John holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.

Experience:

John has worked in schools, homes, and community settings, supporting children and young people with a range of developmental and sensory needs. He focusses on helping each person build the skills they need for daily life — whether it’s getting dressed, joining classroom activities, or feeling calm and ready to learn.

Areas of expertise:

Play therapy and DIR floortime. Completed a prerequisite course for mindful movement supporting over-all regulation for school aged children.

John support children with sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor skills, and self-care. He enjoy helping students develop confidence and independence in tasks like handwriting, dressing, and classroom engagement. His interests and the work he does are influenced by the following: trauma informed practice and interoception

Treatment Modalities:

His sessions are playful, strengths-based, and tailored to each child’s interests and goals. He uses sensory and interoception activities, hands-on learning, and supportive routines to help students participate more comfortably in their world.
